MessageWatcher was brought in to help a client with an SEC audit. The client had not used MessageWatcher in the past and had only been backing up the nightly Microsoft Exchange files to DLT tapes. The e-mails that needed to be searched amounted to more than 3 terabytes of data. MessageWatcher was able to migrate the data from the tapes to our online database. This allowed the client to produce the e-mails requested by the SEC and it reduced the time spent on subsequent searches. Pulling e-mails from the MessageWatcher system takes seconds, whereas retrieval from tapes can take weeks. And we know that the longer the auditors are on-site the more questions they will come up with. It is best to have a tool that will allow you to search your e-mail archive, save the results and forward the results to the auditors quickly.
